:In the Gospels of Matthew and Mark, we witness the compassionate healing power of Jesus as he ministers to the people of Gennareth
:These scriptures illustrate the profound faith of those who sought him, believing that even a simple touch of his garment could bring healing to them.

:Heavenly Father, we thank you for your word that reveals your power, your mercy, and your love.
:As we study the healing power of Jesus, open our hearts to understand the faith demonstrated by those who sought him
:Teach us to come to you with the same boldness and trust, knowing that your power can heal us in every possible way.
:May your Spirit guide our discussion and our reflection today, leading us to a deeper faith in your Son, Jesus Christ.

:Matthew, chapter fourteen, verses thirty-four through thirty-six.
:And when they had crossed over
:They came to land at Gennassaret.
:And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent word into all that Sir the surrounding region
:and brought to him all who were sick, and they pleaded with him that they might just touch the border of his cloak, and all who touched it were cured.
:Mark
:Chapter 6, verses 53 through 56.
:When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and anchored there
:And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately recognized him, and ran about the entire region, and began carrying here and there on their pallets those who were sick, to wherever they heard he was
:And wherever he entered villages, cities, or the countryside, they were laying the sick in the marketplaces and imploring him that they might just touch the border of his cloak.
:And all who touched it were healed.
:These passages
:From Matthew and Mark emphasize the eagerness of people to bring the sick in their lives to Jesus.
:Their recognition of him as the healer
:reflects the growing reputation of his ministry at that time.
:In both accounts, the people not only sought his presence, but also exhibited a faith that believed even touching
:the fringe of his garment would be enough to heal them.
:The act of touching Jesus' garment carries a significant meaning as we look back.
:In Jewish tradition, the fringes, or the tazizet, on the edge of the cloak symbolized obedience to God's commandments.
:You can find that in Numbers chapter 15, verses 38 and 39.
:For the people of Gennaret, it was more than superstition.
:It reflected their faith in Jesus' divine authority and his ability to heal through even the smallest connection with him.
:Both of these passages of scripture highlight the collective faith of the community.
:This was not just individual belief.
:but a communal effort as they carried their sick to wherever Jesus was.
:Their willingness to move toward him, bringing others along, serves as an example
:of the power of shared faith.
:The healing itself, described in both accounts, demonstrates Jesus' readiness to respond to those who come to him with faith
:There is no mention of Jesus turning anyone away or requiring some elaborate rituals.
:Only a simple touch of faith was needed.
:His compassion is evident, and his power to heal was not limited to any specific place or condition
:These scriptures remind us that Jesus' healing was not just a physical act, but was also a spiritual message.
:It pointed to his identity as the Messiah, showing that he came to restore and heal not only bodies, but also hearts and souls
:The power of faith in him transcends time and continues to offer that same healing to all who come to him today.
:We have some key takeaways from these two pieces of scripture.

:Just as those in Gennassareth received healing by faith, we are invited to come to Jesus with our needs, knowing that He is willing to restore us.

:We must must trust that when we approach him in faith
:He is always ready to respond with compassion and power.
:Our third takeaway is that collective faith in a community can draw people closer to God and result in a miracle.
:The people of Gennaret not only sought healing for themselves, but also brought others who were sick to Jesus, demonstrating the strength of collective faith
:Their actions show us that faith thrives in community, where believers support and encourage one another to seek God.
:When we carry others to Jesus through prayer, encouragement, or just practical help, our faith can serve as a conduit for God's power in their lives.
:This reminds us that we have a role to play in the faith journey of those around us.
:When we unite in faith as a community, we create opportunities for God's miracles to manifest.
:Our fourth takeaway is that Jesus responds with compassion to those who earnestly seek him
:In both Matthew and Mark's accounts, we see that Jesus did not turn anyone away.
:Every person who reached out to him in faith was healed

:Whether it be a physical illness or emotional distress, Jesus is ready to respond when we come to him

:And our last takeaway is that the physical healings performed by Jesus point us to a deeper spiritual restoration available to all believers.
:While the miracles of physical healing are all-inspiring, they also symbolize the deeper healing Jesus offers for our souls.
:These miracles point to the fullness of restoration that Christ brings, which includes forgiveness, peace, and spiritual renewal
:Just as the people of Gennasareth were restored physically, we are invited to experience wholeness in Christ through faith.
:This reminds us that the ultimate purpose of Jesus' ministry is to reconcile us with God and transform our hearts.
:When we seek him, we not only receive temporary relief from life's burdens, but also eternal hope and salvation
:The people of Genazareth were determined to reach Jesus because they recognized their need for healing
:This determination challenges us to consider whether we actively seek him in our moments of need.
:Do we have the kind of faith that reaches out to Jesus, believing that even a small connection with him can bring profound change
:It is important to reflect on the simplicity of faith demonstrated in these passages of Scripture
:Sometimes we complicate our relationships with God by thinking we need to perform certain rituals or meet specific conditions
:But these scriptures show that Jesus honors faith even when it is expressed through something as small as touching the hem of his garment.
:The communal aspect of faith in these scriptures also offers us a clear lesson.
:We're not meant to seek Jesus alone.
:We are called to carry each other in faith
:just as the people of Gennareth brought the sick to Jesus.
:This then raises the question, how can we support others in their faith journey?
:Are we willing to bring others closer to Jesus through our actions, prayers, and encouragement
:These passages also remind us of the importance of recognizing Jesus in our daily lives.
:The people of Gennesaret immediately recognized him when he arrived
:How often do we fail to recognize the presence of Jesus in our circumstances, especially during difficult times?
:Learning to see him at work in every situation strengthens our faith.
:And finally,
:This lesson encourages us to trust in Jesus' compassion.
:He responded to everyone who came to him without discrimination and without hesitation
:No matter our condition, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, Jesus invites us to come to him with faith.
:Knowing that he is ready to heal and to restore us.
:Let's close out our study of the scripture with a prayer
:Thank you for the powerful example we see in the people of Gennazareth.
:Help us to have the same boldness and trust.
:as we seek you, Lord Jesus, in our lives.
:May we learn to recognize your presence in every moment and to reach out to you, knowing that even the smallest touch

:Teach us to carry others to you in faith, just as the people brought the sick to you.

:But we also want to lift up Greg and his family.
:This week they lost his mother.
:Uh she had we had requested a prayer for her on the show before, and this week she went on to be with the Lord.
:She was a
:a saved and she was a Christian and we uh want to remember them as they go through this time in their lives had the chance to attend the
:services um yesterday uh for her uh and to see Greg and his family and meet some other members of his family and it was great to to show the support for him and his family there
:We also want to continue to remember Heather Larson's father.
:Heather is a host in the Valuverse.
:She has a Value for Value music show where she also talks to
:artists and individuals as well.
:And we want to continue to lift up her dad.
:He's he's doing he's doing well from what we understand, but he's just he's worried.
:He's scared and that's
:That's normal when you're going through issues of health, because I'm going through them right now.
:I have a procedure lined up coming up soon, so remember me uh as we get ready for that.
:I have a procedure coming up and
:the second week of December.
:Um I'm I'm scared just because I have to be sedated, put under.
:Um, but that is coming up.
:Um so please remember me in prayer and as I'm working through the other issues that we have and finding a way to
:to try to bring about the healing with those.
:So let's one more one more chance to go to prayer and lift up those requests.
:Heavenly Father, we thank you again for providing this opportunity, this time to share your word and to learn from your word
:Want to lift up these requests that we've had here today.
:Remember my dad.
:Remember, remember Greg, Greg's family as they go through this time of loss.
:Heather Larson's dad and his his anxiety he has toward his health and things going on and his health as well, that you can touch him and help with that.
:And Lord please help me as I go through these health issues myself.
:Also, any unspoken requests that the members of our audience and community may have, we want to lift those up as well that you can touch them and touch those needs
:We know that you hold the answers to our prayers, that we trust you fully, that you're going to meet us with the wisdom.
:uh for these requests and that the answer you provide is your will and it is in your name that we do these things
:We work each week.
:We strive each week to produce this show in hopes that it shares your word and helps those learn in your word.
:The ultimate goal, though, Lord, is that we also see those who are not saved come to you and accept your Son Jesus as their Savior.
