Welcome to Bible Bites, your virtual Sunday school, inspiring faith one bite at a time.

:

Each episode brings

:

Breaks down the timeless wisdom of the Bible into digestible insights, perfect for those unable to attend services in person.

:

Whether you're seeking spiritual growth or encouragement, Bible Bites offers fresh, engaging perspectives that fit.

:

into your busy schedule.

:

Here is your host, Randy Black.

:

The story of the woman with the issue of blood that we see in Matthew chapter 9 verses 20 through 22, Mark chapter 5, verses 25 through 34.

:

And Luke chapter 8, verses 42 through 48 is a powerful example of faith and the compassion of Jesus Christ.

:

This miracle is not just about physical healing, but it highlights the depth of the spiritual restoration and how faith can move us from hopelessness to wholeness.

:

As we look at this miracle, we need to see how this, or we will see how this woman's determination to reach out to Jesus, to simply touch him

:

even in the midst of this crowd, brought her the healing that she desperately needed.

:

As we start off our lessons each week here on the show, let's open up with prayer

:

Heavenly Father, we come before you in humility, seeking to understand the depth of your love and power through the story of the woman with the issue of blood.

:

Open our hearts to receive your word with faith and grant us the courage to reach out to you in our moments of weakness and need.

:

May this lesson about this miracle strengthen our trust in you and remind us that in Christ all things are possible.

:

In Jesus' name we pray

:

Matthew 9 verses 20 through 22 And behold a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the border of his cloak

:

For she was saying to herself, If I only touch his cloak, I will get well.

:

But Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, Daughter, take courage.

:

Your faith has made you well.

:

At once the woman was made well.

:

Mark chapter 5 verses 25 through 34.

:

A woman who had a hemorrhage for 12 years and had endured much at the hands of many physicians and had spent all that she

:

She had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse.

:

After hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind him and touched his cloak.

:

For she thought, if I just touch his garments, I will get well.

:

Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in

:

her body that she was healed of her affliction.

:

Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power proceeding from him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, Who touched my garments?

:

And his disciples said to him, You see the crowd pressing in on you, and you say, Who is my

:

Who touched me?

:

And he looked around to see the woman who had done this.

:

But the woman, fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.

:

And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well.

:

Go in peace and be healed.

:

Healed of your affliction.

:

Luke 8, verses 42 through 48.

:

But as he went, the crowds were pressing against him, and a woman who had a

:

Hemorrhage for twelve years and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak.

:

And immediately her hemorrhage stopped.

:

And Jesus said, Who is the one who touched me?

:

And while they were all denying it, Peter said, Master.

:

the people are crowding and pressing in on you.

:

But Jesus said, Someone did touch me, for I was aware that power had gone out of me.

:

When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before

:

for him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.

:

And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well.

:

Go in peace.

:

The story of the woman with the issue of blood is found in these three Gospels, each of them offering unique details that enrich our understanding of this miracle.

:

The woman had been suffering for 12 long years, having sought medical help to no avail

:

Not only was her condition physically draining, but according to Jewish law, her condition made her ceremonially unclean.

:

It isolated her from society and from religious life.

:

Her situation seemed hopeless, but she had heard of Jesus and believed that he could heal her.

:

The woman's faith is remarkable because she did not demand attention.

:

She did not ask for a formal healing.

:

She believed that merely touching the hem of Jesus' garment would be enough.

:

This shows a deep personal faith in Jesus' power and his willingness to heal.

:

Despite the crowd pressing around him, her touch was different.

:

It was a touch of faith.

:

Jesus immediately noticed, even though his disciples were puzzled by his question, who touched me?

:

Jesus knew that power had gone out from him and wanted to acknowledge the faith that had led to the healing

:

When the woman came forward, trembling and fearful, Jesus did not rebuke her.

:

Instead, he spoke tenderly, calling her daughter

:

and reassuring her that it was her faith that had made her whole.

:

This moment highlights Jesus' personal care and attention to those who seek him earnestly.

:

He was not just concerned with the physical healing, but also with restoring her emotionally and spiritually, addressing her fear and her isolation.

:

In the larger context, this story also reveals something about the nature of Jesus' ministry.

:

He was on his way to heal Jaris' daughter.

:

A public and urgent mission.

:

Yet he stopped for this woman, a seemingly insignificant person in the eyes of society

:

This shows that no one is too small or insignificant to receive Jesus' attention and his healing power.

:

His love and compassion extend to all, regardless of their status.

:

Our key takeaways from this week's scriptures.

:

The first is that faith in Christ brings healing

:

The woman's belief that simply touching the hem of Jesus' garment would heal her shows the power of faith in action.

:

Her faith wasn't passive, but active, driving her to seek Jesus despite the obstacles

:

This reminds us that faith in Christ is a powerful force that can bring about miraculous change in our lives, even when situations seem hopeless

:

It wasn't the garment that healed her, but her belief in Jesus' ability to heal.

:

Faith when placed in Jesus.

:

Opens the door for his healing and the transformative power he has to flow into our lives and make change.

:

Jesus responded to the individual faith of this woman.

:

And he continues to do so today.

:

That's our second takeaway

:

Although this crowd was pressing around him, Jesus immediately sensed the touch of the woman that was full of faith

:

This shows that Jesus is deeply aware of those who genuinely seek him, even in the midst of chaos or a crowd full of distractions.

:

His response emphasizes that faith is personal.

:

It's not about the proximity to Jesus or the volume of the request, but about the sincerity of one's heart.

:

This teaches us that even when we feel unseen or insignificant, Jesus recognizes and responds to our personal faith

:

He is always attuned to the hearts of those who earnestly reach out to him.

:

Our third takeaway is that Jesus offers more than physical healing

:

While this woman's physical healing was immediate, Jesus addressed much more than her physical condition

:

By calling her daughter and offering her comfort, he also healed her emotionally and spiritually.

:

The interaction shows that Jesus desires to make us whole in every way, not just solving our external problems.

:

but bringing peace to our inner being as well.

:

His healing goes beyond the surface, reaching into the depths of our fears, our insecurities, and our brokenness.

:

Jesus offers complete restoration, body, mind, and spirit

:

Our fourth takeaway here is that no one is overlooked by Jesus, despite being considered an outcast by society at the time due to her condition.

:

Jesus took the time to acknowledge the woman and affirm her faith.

:

This teaches us that no matter how society may view or treat us,

:

We are never invisible or insignificant to Jesus.

:

His compassion extends to everyone, regardless of their social standing, their past, or their condition.

:

Jesus' attention to her shows that he's not swayed by the opinions of others.

:

He values each person individually and personally.

:

In his eyes,

:

Everyone is worthy of his love and care.

:

And our last takeaway is that persistence in seeking Jesus leads to wholeness.

:

This woman's persistent faith, even after twelve years of suffering and failed attempts to find healing, ultimately led to her miracle

:

She didn't give up despite years of disappointment and worsening conditions.

:

Her story encourages us to remain persistent in our pursuit of Jesus, trusting

:

That he is the power to change our circumstances.

:

No matter how long we have been struggling, persistence in faith.

:

especially in the face of hardship, often opens the door to divine intervention and breakthrough.

:

Jesus honors those who continue to seek him despite the obstacles they face.

:

The story of the woman with the issue of blood offers us a profound reflection on faith, humility, and persistence in seeking Jesus

:

The woman had suffered for 12 years, but she did not allow her past disappointments to stop her from reaching out to Jesus

:

Her story is an encouragement to all who feel overwhelmed by the long-standing issues in their lives, whether those be physical or emotional or spiritual

:

It reminds us that no matter how long we've struggled, Jesus has the power to heal and to restore.

:

The crowd pressing around Jesus could have deterred the woman.

:

But her determination to push through obstacles is a lesson for us.

:

We often encounter distractions, fears, and doubts that could prevent us from coming to Jesus.

:

Yet, like the woman, we must believe that even the smallest touch of faith

:

can change our circumstances.

:

Our efforts to seek Jesus will not go unnoticed.

:

Lastly, the woman's healing was immediate, but the impact

:

Went beyond just the physical.

:

She was restored to her community.

:

Her fears were calmed, and she was given peace.

:

When we come to Jesus with our needs, we may find that he not only addresses the issue, but we bring that we bring to him those issues we bring forward.

:

But he also brings peace to other areas of our lives that we didn't even realize needed healing

:

As we do each week, let's close out our scriptural lesson with a prayer.

:

Dear Lord, we thank you for the example of faith shown by the woman with the issue of blood.

:

Help us to trust in your power and compassion, knowing that you are always attentive to our needs

:

May we, like her, reach out to you in faith, knowing that you can heal and restore us completely.

:

Grant us the courage to seek you persistently and the grace to receive your peace in every area of our lives

:

In Jesus' name we pray.

:

Amen.

We hope that if you are willing to, you will share prayer requests with us through the contact means we have on our website.

:

So we can take those and share them with the audience, and they can lift up those names and those needs in prayer to the Lord so that we can help to address them.

:

Uh some re prayer requests for this week.

:

First off, we need to remember all those people who've been affected by the storm Helene on its way through Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, especially

:

western North Carolina and some of the parts of Tennessee.

:

The devastation there is just absolutely astonishing.

:

Uh the power of of that storm was just tremendous.

:

We need to lift those people up and remember them in prayer that they can

:

get the assistance they need and they can get things returned back to somewhat normalcy for their daily lives.

:

Also continue to remember my dad in prayer.

:

He actually goes this week to start the process for his treatment plan and uh pray for him that the healing can occur, but also that

:

He might return back and come back to church and be involved in service, directly involved in service to the Lord.

:

So, as we do, let's close out this episode with a prayer.

:

Heavenly Father, we again thank you for the ability to come together and share your word with those who are listening

:

We lift up those requests that have been made here.

:

Remember my dad, that you can touch him and heal him, but more importantly, stir his heart and get him to return back into your service in the church.

:

Remember those folks throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee that were affected by storm Helene, that you can help them to rebuild and get their lives back together and be stronger than they were prior to that storm.

:

We also lift up any unspoken requests that members of our audience may have so that you can touch those needs, those individuals, in the way that you see fit

:

You hold all the answers to our prayers, and we trust you and your wisdom in meeting those requests with whatever answer you provide.

:

It is in your name that we work each week, that we strive to share your word with the world in hopes that they might ultimately accept your Son Jesus as their Savior.

:

And then be able to spend eternity in heaven with you and with him and all of us who are saved.

:

It's in Jesus' name that we pray.

:

Amen.

:

Next week, we're going to take a look at something we referenced in today's lesson, and that's when Jesus raised Jerusal's daughter.

:

from the dead, brought her back to life.

:

That's found in Matthew chapter nine, uh verse eighteen, and then verses twenty-three to twenty-six, in Mark chapter five, verses twenty-one to twenty-four, and then thirty-five to forty-three,

:

And in Luke chapter eight, forty to forty-two, and then in forty-nine to fifty-six.
