God’s Timing vs. Your Timing

In this devotional we reflect on waiting and how difficult it can be when events do not happen on our timeline. We begin by noting that frustration and discouragement are common when we want progress or resolution but do not see it right away.

We focus on Ecclesiastes 3:1, which says there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. From that passage, we emphasize that timing is part of God’s design and that His timing is not rushed or random.

We also consider that waiting does not mean nothing is happening. We say that God may be preparing, shaping, and molding things we cannot see, and that waiting is often where growth happens.

We close by encouraging trust in God’s process instead of focusing only on what has not yet happened. We pray for patience, confidence, and the ability to grow in the waiting, while remembering that we are not being overlooked but being prepared.

Randy Black:
to every purpose under the heaven.

6
00:00:36,200 –> 00:00:42,440
Randy Black:
That reminds us that timing ultimately is a part of God’s design.

7
00:00:44,500 –> 00:00:47,740
Randy Black:
Naturally, we want things to happen quickly.

8
00:00:48,360 –> 00:00:52,800
Randy Black:
When something matters to us, we want movement.

9
00:00:53,520 –> 00:00:55,260
Randy Black:
We want progress.

10
00:00:56,540 –> 00:01:05,840
Randy Black:
Ultimately, we want a resolution And when that doesn’t happen It’s so easy To

11
00:01:05,840 –> 00:01:09,080
Randy Black:
feel frustrated Or to feel discouraged,

12
00:01:10,620 –> 00:01:15,260
Randy Black:
But God’s timing is not rushed And it is not random,

13
00:01:16,660 –> 00:01:23,900
Randy Black:
There are things that He is doing That we do not see Things that He is preparing

14
00:01:23,900 –> 00:01:30,599
Randy Black:
things that he is shaping and molding and just because something hasn’t happened

15
00:01:30,599 –> 00:01:35,920
Randy Black:
yet it doesn’t mean that nothing is happening,

16
00:01:37,060 –> 00:01:44,860
Randy Black:
waiting is not wasted time it’s often where growth happens.

17
00:01:47,580 –> 00:01:54,500
Randy Black:
Today, if you’re waiting on something, pause and trust the process.

18
00:01:55,320 –> 00:02:04,600
Randy Black:
Instead of focusing on what’s happened, take the time to focus on what God is doing in you right now.

19
00:02:05,540 –> 00:02:10,860
Randy Black:
Trust Him. Trust that His timing is intentional.
